  21. Most of the information in README.TXT is also duplicated
  22. in the on-line help.  (General information, an overview 
  23. and the full specifications of the non-shareware product
  24. INET TCP/IP is in INETINFO.WRI.)

  26.              1. Registering INET UTS60

  29. The unregistered version of INET UTS60 (Sperry/Unisys terminal
  30. emulator) is the fully functional product except for the
  31. reminder to register.  The shareware licence is limited to one
  32. user per mainframe and network.  We try to make it easy for you
  33. to evaluation the product properly.  Please contact us in case
  34. some services you need seem to be lacking or if you experience 
  35. problems in evaluating UTS60.  We will appreciate any contact
  36. because we WANT to get feedback from users to enable us to
  37. improve our products.  Your suggestion might be included in the
  38. next release.

  40. Registration will remove the annoying reminder to register and
  41. you may order a licence for more users.  All the latest updates 
  42. for the first year will be available for free downloading from 
  43. an internet site (FTP or WWW).  Support will be supplied through
  44. E-mail and telephone.  The registered licence file will be 
  45. supplied by E-mail or on disk (if E-mail and downloading can 
  46. not be used) with the latest updates.

  48. Support after the first year is available at 10% of the cost of
  49. the installed base per year.  Support includes access to all
  50. updates.

  68. contact.  Please send us all your details via e-mail or phone,
  69. state your requirements and ask for payment arrangements.  The
  70. registration key will be e-mailed as soon as payment has been 
  71. processed. (S-mail is available, but not preferred.)

  84. in terminal emulators, TCP/IP and printer support for IP based
  85. networks.  The head office is in Pretoria, South Africa.  We
  86. have been in this business for eleven years and some of our 
  87. products are marketed nation wide by a national dealer network 
  88. and support companies.  We are proud of our fast turn-around time 
  89. for fixing bugs and releasing updates.  We can supply tailor made
  90. implementations for our customers on short notice.

  93. Association of Shareware Professionals (ASP).

  95. More than 50 000 copies of our products have been sold in South
  96. Africa mostly to large companies and state departments.

  98. INET UTS60 is being used (in 1997) by the French Bank of SA as 
  99. well as some hospitals and other banking institutions.

  129. Shareware distribution gives users a chance to try software
  130. before buying it. If you try a Shareware program and continue
  131. using it, you are expected to register.

  133. Copyright laws apply to both Shareware and commercial software,
  134. and the copyright holder retains all rights, with a few specific 
  135. exceptions as stated below. Shareware authors are accomplished 
  136. programmers, just like commercial authors, and the programs are 
  137. of comparable quality. The main difference is in the method of 
  138. distribution. The author specifically grants the right to copy 
  139. and distribute the software.

  141. Shareware is a distribution method, not a type of software. 
  142. The Shareware system makes fitting your needs easier, because 
  143. you can try before you buy.  And because the overhead is low, 
  144. prices are low also. Shareware has the ultimate money-back 
  145. guarantee -- if you don't use the product, you don't pay for it.

  148.              4. Disclaimer - Agreement

  151. Users of INET UTS60 must accept this disclaimer of warranty: 
  152. "INET UTS60 is supplied as is.  The author disclaims all
  153. warranties, expressed or implied, including, without
  154. limitation, the warranties of merchantability and of fitness
  155. for any purpose.  The author assumes no liability for damages,
  156. direct or consequential, which may result from the use of INET
  157. UTS60."

  159. INET UTS60 is a "shareware program" and is provided at no
  160. charge to the user for evaluation.  Feel free to share it with
  161. your friends, but please do not give it away altered or as part
  162. of another system. The essence of "user-supported" software is
  163. to provide personal computer users with quality software
  164. without high prices, and yet to provide incentive for
  165. programmers to continue to develop new products.  If you find
  166. this program useful and find that you are using INET UTS60 and
  167. continue to use INET UTS60 after a reasonable trial period,
  168. you must make a registration payment to GP van Niekerk
  169. Ondernemings.  The registration fee can license more copies for
  170. simultaneous usage by multiple users.  The supplied licence may
  171. only be used on one LAN.  The number of installations per LAN
  172. is not restricted, only the number of simultaneous users.

  174. Commercial users of INET UTS60 must register and pay for their
  175. copies of INET UTS60 within 30 days of first use or their
  176. license is withdrawn.  Site-License arrangements may be made by
  177. contacting GP van Niekerk Ondernemings.  The licence fees are
  178. given in the REGISTER.TXT document.

  180. Anyone distributing INET UTS60 for any kind of remuneration
  181. must first contact GP van Niekerk Ondernemings at the address
  182. below for authorization.  This authorization will be
  183. automatically granted to distributors recognized by the ASP as
  184. adhering to its guidelines for shareware distributors, and such
  185. distributors may begin offering INET UTS60 immediately
  186. (However GP van Niekerk Ondernemings must still be advised so
  187. that the distributor can be kept up-to-date with the latest
  188. version of INET UTS60.).

  190. You are encouraged to pass a copy of INET UTS60 along to your
  191. colleagues for evaluation.  Please encourage them to register
  192. their copy if they find that they can use it.  All registered
  193. users will receive a copy of the latest version of the INET 
  194. UTS60 system.
